Yokohama Gate Tower is a new, state-of-the-art commercial building prominently located at the starting point of King Axis, Yokohama’s main urban gateway. Home to a planetarium, the crown of the building is inspired by astronomical concepts and symbolises moon phases. Arclux luminaires are mounted on short arms along columns and create a façade lighting effect that rises into sky in an elegant arc, visible from afar. The luminaires can be dimmed individually via DALI. This unique project is the winner of the Lighting Facility Award by the Illuminating Engineering Institute of Japan.
